Teaming for Technology is an initiative of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. T4T offers a unique set of services as a provider of both nonprofit technology assistance and community technology access solutions.

Teaming for Technology has 4 main product lines:
  1. T4T Assistance Program - T4T charges a nominal membership fee for a suite of services including:

    • Technology assessment and strategic technology plan or 15 hours of technology implementation time,
    • Access to hardware access fund,
    • Access to negotiated corporate technology discounts,
    • Access to a members-only resource website,
    • Discounted training and consultant fees,
    • Free admittance into the TechConnect IT strategic seminar program.

    Nonprofit staff training, strategic technology consulting, and contract services such as regularly schedule network maintenance are also offered at hourly rate to nonprofits, with a discount for T4T members.

  2. T4T Digital Inclusion Program – T4Ts Digital Inclusion program Includes the following set of community technology solutions available to organizations and communities:

    • The Beehive Philadelphia web portal (www.thebeehive.org/philly) that includes opportunities for issue specific content creation, online engagement tools for nonprofit and government agency use with clients, the licensing of neighborhood based sites, government and public interest marketing solutions and corporate sponsorship opportunities.

    • Broadband internet access solutions for low-income neighborhoods that also include a youth tech. support component and a Digital Access Fund for the purchase of home based computers for residents.

    • Curricula and staff development for Community Technology Centers (CTCs) and other nonprofit organizations seeking to engage their clients in useful applications of computers and the internet.
    • Teen Technology Network, which served nearly one hundred Philadelphia high school students. The program helped them use technology to improve their academic skills and plan for the future.
    • The Verizon YouthTech Contest celebrates the vision of today's young people. Students entered essays proposing ways to make their community a better place using technology.
  3. T4T Training Program Designed with nonprofits in mind
    Our instructors have experience working in the non-profit sector and understand the particular needs of nonprofit agencies. The T4T training calendar is broken up into tracks in which individuals can take single classes or the full series of trainings
    • MS Track - Preparation classes for non-profit staff and individuals seeking to master the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Courses are introductory to intermediate.
    • Web/Multimedia Track - For staff looking to enhance their web development and multimedia skills.
    • CTC Track - Completion of this track will fully prepare an agency staff person to start and successfully operate a Community Technology Center.
  4. T4T Internship Program – This program provides Philadelphia area students in the Information Technology field with practical experience through the use of structured internships. Working with regional companies through a partnership with community colleges, area tech and high schools, T4T Internships bridges the gap between supply and demand for IT workers by emphasizing the importance of skill standards and experience.
