| IBM Corporation has been a proud national sponsor to the Teaming for Technology Program over the past four years. The program is a dynamic public/private/corporate partnership of IBM, United Way of America, and AmeriCorps/VISTA in sixteen American communities. United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania is providing the vehicle for the sole new site for this program with the goal of helping to bridge the digital divide in the Delaware Valley. IBM provides $500,000 annually in PC's and support hardware and software, while providing $100,000 in VISTA support. Locally we have provided significant support to launch the initiative. IBM is pleased to sponsor this program in the Delaware Valley with the belief that success will result from the built-in national supports of the program and the strength of the management of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania in attracting external resources for their agencies and their innovative programming. We also see tremendous value in the long-standing commitment of the organization to harnessing corporate, agency, and community relationships throughout the Delaware Valley community to serve low-income and disadvantaged clients. IBM is excited about
bringing the Teaming for Technology program to Philadelphia and the
surrounding region. We believe that business has a tremendous responsibility
to bridge the digital divide and train the next generation in the use
of technology. IBM proudly endorses United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania
in facilitating the work of bridging the digital divide and encourage
the support of multiple community partners to facilitate this work.
