Here are a couple tips for better results while searching the
World Wide Web. Search for specific phrases by using quotes.
Simply put whatever phrase you’re looking for in quotes
and press search. For example, technology grants without quotes
returns close to 5 million results. But by using quotes the
search will return a much more manageable 35 thousand hits.
You can take it a step further and use Boolean logic operators,
“And” or “Not”, + & - respectively.
“And” is inclusive and “Not” is exclusive.
Use +Pennsylvania to include Pennsylvania in your search. Use
–Florida to remove Florida from your searches. Say you’re
looking for technology grants and want to narrow the search
to grants around your neighborhood. You could search like this.
“Technology Grants” +Pennsylvania –Florida
to search for the phrase technology grants that includes with
it Pennsylvania and excludes any Florida references.
