We are pleased to announce the BEST (Business Educating
Students in Technology) program has been awarded a grant from
The Department of Labor. This grant supports core operations
for the next 18 months. To implement this grant, BEST will be
moved to the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania to become
part of Teaming for Technology. To blend smoothly with T4T,
BEST has been re-named the T4T Internship Program. This new
service will offer additional benefits to our current member
agencies while continuing to grant students the practical experience
in Information Technology. If you are interested in learning
more about how to sponsor an intern, please contact Robin Brennan

This month’s agency of the month is Mt. Airy USA (MAUSA).
Mt. Airy USA is a Community Development Corporation serving
the Mt. Airy community, including the Germantown Ave corridor.
MAUSA’s recent technological improvements are an example
of how strategic planning can help benefit an organization.
MAUSA incorporated technology upgrades into their office planning.
MAUSA took advantage of their hardware donations (one server
and two desktops), purchased an additional server, and used
their T4T consulting hours to implement a client/server network.
Associate Executive Director, Richard Gilbertie has made a personal
commitment to learn how to manage the network.
Their new office space has the additional capacity to be leased
out to a start up businesses. MAUSA is able to provide these
businesses with internet access that allows them to run efficiently.
They are also thinking of ways to include the Mt. Airy community
into future technology planning. Way to go MAUSA!!!

mainly fixes bugs from the 1.1 version released last year.
OpenOffice is a collection of productivity applications, including
