Teaming for Technology’s work with non-profit organizations
has earned the “Techie Award” from the Delaware
Valley Technical Recruiters Network (DVTRN). The annual award
was presented on January 14 in recognition of T4T’s exceptional
effort in promoting technology. Director, Steve Rockwell was
on hand to accept the honor given “for outstanding commitment
for technology in the greater Philadelphia area.” More

2.) Microsoft Scholarships for Undergraduate
Students (2004-2005 School Year)
Microsoft recognizes the value of a diverse workforce and is
committed to
hiring the best and brightest from all backgrounds. As a corporation,
they
feel that having a wide range of perspectives will enable them
to continue
to provide great software and services in the 21st century.
Their
scholarship program is designed to encourage students to pursue
careers in
Computer Science and other related technical fields.
Microsoft is excited to be offering over a half million dollars
in
scholarships for the 2004-2005 academic year. Scholarships will
range in
value from $10K to half tuition to full tuition. Applications
! must be
postmarked by January 1! 5, 2004. Microsoft will contact finalists
by the
end of February 2004. Scholarship recipients will be notified
by March 15,
2004. All recipients of the scholarship will be required to
complete a
salaried summer internship of 12 weeks at Microsoft Corporation
in
Redmond, Washington. (Microsoft reserves the right not to offer
a position
to the scholarship winner if an appropriate match cannot be
found.)
Undergraduate students from across North America will be selected
in
recognition of their passion for software and the ability to
make a
difference in the software industry.

The Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards program seeks to identify
and prepare the next generation of Hispanic role models by promoting
education and celebrating their accomplishments in the classroom
and in the community. The Youth Awards program offers education
grants to Hispanic High school seniors at ceremonies held in
12 regions: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, LA, Miami, New York, Philadelphia,
Phoenix, San Antonio, San Diego, Northern California, and greater
Washington, DC. The Hispanic Heritage Awards Foundation offers
regional and national awards in seven different categories.
