1.) Teen Yellow Pages Launch
The Teen Yellow Pages is up and running on the Beehive! A huge thank you goes out to the Center for Youth Development for providing us with such great content. The Pages, available in English and Spanish, serve as a resource guide specifically designed for teenagers who live in the Philadelphia area. Information includes family and health services, transportation, volunteer opportunities, and more. Take a look at the Pages by going to

2.) T4T Recipient of Dept. of Ed/CTC Grant
Teaming For Technology is pleased to announce that we are the recipients of this year’s Department of Education/Community Technology Centers award. The grant amount, which totals over $430,000 will be used towards developing a mentoring/workforce development program for students at University City and West Philadelphia High Schools who are currently involved in their school’s technology programs. The School District of Philadelphia, People’s Emergency Center, PCAH and One Economy Corporation are partnering with United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania to execute this project. Congratulations to all!

3.) NTIA Announces TOP FY 2003 Grants
Washington, DC. The Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) today announced the award of $13.95 million in Technology Opportunities Program (TOP) grants to 28 non-profit organizations, including state, local, and tribal governments, in 22 states.

TOP grants, matched by $14.8 million in contributions from the private sector and state and local organizations, extend the benefits of advanced telecommunications technologies to under-served communities and neighborhoods.

Services provided by this year's award winners include: online entrepreneurship resources for small businesses, online solutions for environmental monitoring, streaming video to ill children, new tools for vision screening, online oversight of charitable organizations, online booking services for artists, online Earned Income Tax Credit filing for low income households, as well as numerous other innovative digital services.

4.) Furniture Available
In preparation for an upcoming move of its offices, the YWCA of Philadelphia
has used office furniture, including desks, chairs, book cases, many filing
cabinets, etc., that are available for donation to other non-profit
organizations. Those who are interested must remove and transport any items
from 1315 Walnut Street, Suite 1119 by Monday, October 27, 2003. Please
contact if you are interested in previewing or taking away any of the
available items.

5.) Free Computer Assistance Available


**Comp-U-Smart Announces FREE Computer Assistance**

As part of our mission to empower non-profit
organizations to utilize technology, Comp-U-Smart is currently
offering FREE computer assistance with computer
problems (i.e. error messages, crashes, printer
problems, etc.). This assistance is being offered to
non-profit organizations. Please send a detailed

6.) Free Computer Desk Available
There is a brand new computer desk available for donation from a United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania employee. This is a gorgeous desk that Lorelei would have taken herself if her house wasn’t already crowded enough. If you are interested in seeing pictures of the desk or acquiring a beautiful new addition to your office, please contact lorelein@uwsepa.org.

7.) N-TEN Conference Updates
The Roundup and the E-Philanthropy Conferences are going to be integrated into a single event next year, the 2004 Nonprofit Technology Conference, which will be held in Philadelphia, PA on March 25-27, presented by N-TEN and co-hosted by Network for Good and United Way of America.
